MSP Billing Close-Off Dates for BC Physicians

Staying on top of MSP close-off dates is essential for accurate billing and timely payments. To make this easier, we’ve compiled all key dates you need to know, including public holidays, remittance dates, payment dates, and monthly close-off deadlines for claim submissions.

How do MSP close-off dates work in British Columbia?

Claims are processed on a semi-monthly basis, with two close-off dates, two payment dates, and two remittance availability dates each month.

To ensure timely payment, physicians should submit their claims before the first close-off date so they are included in the upcoming remittance statement and paid on the following payment date. Claims submitted after the first close-off date will be processed by the second close-off date and will appear on the next remittance advice.

To help keep your billing on track and avoid delays, it is recommended to submit claims daily, keeping in mind the two close-off dates. This is a best practice that DoctorCare strongly supports to ensure timely processing and fewer surprises at month-end.
