Billing rules for PPDR Q codes
As of February 1, 2017, the MOH has a new patient de-rostering process. Finally! Physicians will no longer have to wait upwards of 6 months to have a patient’s outside use removed from their roster.
All FHG and FHO doctors are now able to use certain Q codes to de-roster a patient from their roster instead of using the forms.
Instead of checking off Termination Code 40 (member deceased), 44 (ended by provider), and 54 (patient left province), you can now bill the corresponding Q code (Q401A-Q403A). Simply enter the termination date in where you normally enter the service date for the bill. You can enter a termination date up to 6 months’ back.
