We know that some FHOs have been getting emails from the MOH about negative outside use results. MOH staff have been reminding groups about their service obligations and encouraging them to find strategies that minimize outside use and maximize compensation/income benefits. This action is consistent with outside use and resulting duplicate payment concerns that have been raised in the Ontario Auditor General’s 2016 Annual Report.
The MOH communications are requesting information on how groups are addressing their outside use. If you have negative outside use, getting into a positive position within a timely manner may be in your best interest.
